The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam secured the second position, while the Indian National Congress secured the third position in this assembly election. In terms of seat distribution, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam won 133 seats, followed by the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam with 66 seats and the Indian National Congress with 18 seats. The remaining seats were won by candidates from various other parties.
